A commission for my friend Angie. This was from a photo she took from her man’s boat on July 4th, and wanted this done for him for Christmas. I was excited to do this one. It’s my birthday, and I’ve never drawn fireworks before. I love fireworks!

this was a commission for my friend Samantha for her
daughter Ariel on her birthday.
This is Ariel on her horse "Cowboy"
Her mom wanted to capture that moment. It was so fun to draw!

While teaching at the preschool, my friend and fellow teacher Terry took great shots of the children participating in their favorite activities. From these photos, I began exercising my drawing hand after years of solely working in clay. I hadn’t used pencil very much in years, and it was a fun activity to practice. I focused on muscle tone, proportion and light. I have people commission me to draw portraits to this day. I do at least 20 portraits or more a year, in graphite pencil or prismacolor.
